The legendary Kyosho Beetle 2014, like its predecessor the Scorpion 2014, evokes the exciting spirit of Kyosho's legendary "golden age" machines that were constantly setting new performance standards. Credited by most as the cornerstone of electric-powered 1:10 scale off-road racing, the Kyosho designed rail-type chassis with its four-wheel independent suspension, oil-filled shocks, and a differential (the first car to include one). This series of rail chassis off-road buggy faithfully reproduces the features of the original car to honor the legacy of this machine in RC history, and at the same time, it's been improved and updated in subtle ways to optimize it for use with today's batteries, motors and electronics. There are also enhancements that allow you to use optional modern accessories to push this icon of RC history well beyond its original limits.

The Beetle 2014 Kit features an officially licensed VW "Baja Bug" style body that was very popular in off-road racing then and now. The cast parts have been tweaked for even greater durability, and now use much stronger 6061 T6 aluminum. The transmission is re-designed to fit 48-pitch metal gears and a new gear differential, and will also accept the ball differential from the World Champion RB6 as an option. It also includes a slipper clutch that is capable of handling powerful brushless modified motors.
